Domaine Roger Champault, Sancerre 'Les Pierris' 2022

Domaine Roger Champault was founded in 1850, situated in the small hamlet of Champtin near the village of Crézancy-en-Sancerre , 8 km south of the town of Sancerre. Today the current custodians, Claude and Laurent Champault, farm 22ha of steep limestone-soil slopes and dedicate their craft to producing exceptional wines. 'Les Pierris' 2022 is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, taken from the estate's younger vines. The grapes are fermented on lees in stainless steel for 6 months prior to bottling to create a more rounded palate. A nose of white peach, blossom, lemon zest and grapefruit lead to a superbly linear, mineral palate with further citrussy flavours. A great wine to pair with cheeses or fish.
